TURN UP - Together and United to Raise kNOwledge on Union Policies



The Fifth International Meeting held in Larnaka (CY), was programmed with local activities, cultural and theme-based visits to:


– Promote cultural exchange: by providing an opportunity for participants to immerse themselves in the local culture of the project location. This promotes cultural exchange and fosters a greater appreciation for diversity and understanding among participants.

– Networking and Collaboration: these activities provided a platform for networking and collaboration. Participants had the chance to interact with local organizations, experts, and stakeholders, which hopefully will lead to future partnerships and collaborations.

– Promote European Identity: all the activities were aimed to strengthen the sense of European identity and unity. Cultural and theme-based activities contributed to highlight common European values and heritage.


The activities implemented during the 5-day project were:


– Guided visit of the Cypriot Parliament: helped to educate about the functioning of the country's legislative branch. Participants learned about the democratic processes, the role of lawmakers, and how laws are made, gain a better understanding of the cypriot political system, the importance of government institutions, and their own role in a democracy.

– Guided tour of Lefkosia City Centre: the guided tour provided context, inspiration, cultural understanding, and community engagement, all of which enhanced the Turn Up project's objectives and outcomes. It was a valuable tool for promoting collaboration and creating a deeper connection between the project and the local environment. Guided tour of Larnaca, Kiti village and visit of Kition ''Angeloktisti Church, Mosfiloti village, Shia village, Pyrga village and attendance in the Renaissance Fair.


The Seminar on:’’ reinforcing the EU’s social and political cohesion”: it had several important impacts and results:


– enhanced understanding: Participants gained a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities related to social and political cohesion in the European Union, acquired new knowledge and insights into the complexities of these issues, facilitated networking and collaboration among participants, including representatives from various EU member states.

– Identification of Challenges: The seminar helped to identify and prioritize the key challenges and obstacles to social and political cohesion in the EU, this identification was a crucial step in developing effective solutions for the future.

– Promoted EU Values: by focusing on cohesion, the seminar emphasized and promoted core EU values, such as solidarity, democracy, and social inclusion.

– Empowerment of Civil Society: to play a more active role in addressing social and political cohesion issues by providing them with knowledge and resources.

– Brainstorming: drafting of project’s conclusions, an overview of acquired results

– Practical Activities: Coffeestorming: “future themes and cooperations”
